2018 Veterans Day OPEN Tournament!

Last years Trophies!

Last years Trophies!

The Texas Adaptive Sports and Recreation, a 501c non-profit, is hosting it’s FOURTH annual Veterans Day OPEN INCLUSIVE Martial Arts tournament for competitors with physical challenges, special needs, and disabilities!  All special needs / physically challenged competitors from any system or style are welcome and invited to come compete!

Hosted by TxASR and One World Karate, the tournament will be a day of celebration and sportsmanship for all competitors.

There will be competitions in Empty Hand KATA / FORMS, and Weapon KATA / FORMS.

Trophies will be awarded to all participants.  However, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be different from participant trophies. Why do we award different trophies?  Because effort deserves reward, but excellence deserves recognition!  We can not teach good sportsmanship and good citizenship without it.

This is a unique INCLUSIVE tournament format.  ALL competitors have an equal chance at winning, placing or coming down the line.

We are inviting all ages from white belts up to register for the tournament.

WHERE: The tournament will be at the Cedar Park Recreation Center: 1435 Main Street, Cedar Park, TX 78613

There will be divisions based upon 1. age, 2. belt level, and 3. modifications.  The competitor will be placed in their groupings on the day of the tournament, but in general, the tournament will progress from the youngest, lowest belt levels up to the oldest, highest belt levels throughout the tournament day.

Waivers will be supplied and required to be completed on the day of the tournament at check in.

Check in is from 11:30-12:00PM.  Late competitors run the risk of not being allowed to compete.

Fees will go to pay for the location and trophies.

Any remaining money goes to our non-profit organization, Texas Adaptive Sports and Recreation (formerly One World Martial Arts Federation), a 501-c Non-Profit.  Those funds will help pay to educate other schools and instructors to be able to offer programs like ours, create scholarships for parents facing hardships due to their child’s special needs, and many other important projects!

COST: 30$ per competitor, 10$ per spectator, FREE for any veteran.
